Choosing to become a certified Montessori teacher is both a professional commitment and a personal journey.
You will engage deeply with a method that is scientifically grounded, observation-based, and holistic in its approach. Montessori education is rooted in developmental theory and research, emphasizing intentional practice, reflective teaching, and a clear understanding of how children grow and learn. Through this preparation, Montessori teachers become knowledgeable guides who are trained to observe, prepare environments, and respond thoughtfully to each stage of a child’s development.

Infant & Toddlers
Designed to prepare graduates to enter the dynamic field of Montessori education as skilled and reflective teachers of children from birth through three years of age.

Early Childhood
Designed to prepare graduates to enter the rewarding and fulfilling career as Montessori teachers for children ages two and a half to six years old.

Montessori Infants & Toddlers Certification Program
[0 to 3 years]
The program prepares the kind and compassionate adult who will become a skilled guide who observes and leads the children through the stages of development. It involves both academic preparation and experiential learning through hands-on practice in a classroom.
Students are encouraged to explore, engage in meaningful discussions, and participate in reflective practices while completing the course cycle. Some of the coursework includes:
· Montessori Philosophy and Pedagogy
· Child Development
· Environmental Design
· Observation
· Classroom Leadership and Administration, and
· Personal and Spiritual Growth of the Teacher.
Teacher candidates are supported in learning how to create inclusive, calm, and nurturing prepared environments that are rich in purposeful experiences and responsive to each child’s developmental needs. Emphasis is placed on careful observation and respectful guidance, allowing the teacher to support each child’s cognitive, social, and emotional development with intention, sensitivity, and the highest regard for the child.
Montessori Early Childhood Certification Program
[2.5 to 6 years]
The curriculum developed at MATI was carefully designed to prepare the adult-learner to fully understand and embrace Dr. Montessori’s vision of “following the child”. It involves both academic preparation and experiential learning through hands-on practice in a classroom.
Some of the coursework includes:

Acting as a bridge between the child and the world, the teacher will become an observant guide who understands the needs of the individual child and connects them with the appropriate materials contained in the prepared environment. The Early Childhood candidate is a passionate educator who exercises patience and empathy while creating an inclusive, peaceful and rich environment where children explore at their own pace. This environment plants the seeds needed for children to grow into kind, self-reliant and joyful adults.
